14th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge Prize Reveal

The 14th Annual Slice of Life Story Challenge (SOLSC) will run from Monday, March 1 through Wednesday, March 31. Everyone who participates in the adult challenge–not to be confused with the classroom challenge–for all 31 days will be eligible to win a prize at the end of the month.

For those new to the challenge, a little incentive can be what helps you jump in and stick with 31 days of writing. For those who have participated before, you already know the biggest prize is how much this daily writing challenge gives back.

The Community Expander Prize

The first prizes of the month will go to those who have intentionally and effectively expanded the community. Anyone who has recruited someone to join the SOLSC is eligible for this prize donated by Heinemann.

The SEAT Prize

Participants will have two opportunities to win the SEAT Prize as they write and comment throughout the challenge. The SEAT Prize represents the signature characteristics of the challenge: Scribing~Everyday~Augmentable~Time

The Mentor Prize

Mentors matter, and we invite you to nominate someone who has been a mentor to you in the SOLSC for the Mentor Prize. The Mentor Prize is sponsored by Jennifer Serravallo and Kate Roberts.

The Welcome Wagon Prize

Our Welcome Wagon volunteers inspire and support our newest community members and we want to thank those who take on this extra responsibility. Welcome Wagon volunteers will have two chances to win a prize during the challenge!

The Commenter of Quality Prize

Comments are so important and during the challenge, you can nominate someone who shares consistently meaningful or inspiring comments. Kids Can Press will award one winner with a great prize pack from their spring catalog!

The First Timer Prize

Corwin Press is sponsoring a collection of prizes specifically for our first-time Slicers! The titles include a variety of professional books for four winners.

The Decade or More Prize

If you’ve been participating in the SOLSC for ten years or more, you will be eligible for one of these great prizes!

The Spirit of the Challenge Prize

This prize is supported and sponsored by Highlights Foundation and represents the spirit of this challenge! One winner will be awarded an amazing opportunity. Take a look!

Because we continue to stay true to some traditions, we have the Classic Prizes. No matter how many years you have been a member of the SOLSC community, if you wrote every day for the entire month, and you left at least three comments for other Slicers every day, then you are eligible for a Classic Prize.
